The Royal Canadian Legion in District 4 recently honoured Remembrance Day by hosting a private service at the cenotaph followed by a banquet at the legion hall in the evening.
Earl Johnson, Helping Hand Lodge 34 River John, presents a $500 donation to Mike Topley, president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 108 in River John, at the Remembrance Day banquet. The lodge donated the money to help the Legion with difficult times during COVID-19 which has restricted its fundraising.
Ann Patriquin was the guest speaker. Her family has a beautiful monument on the Gunn Road in River John in honour of her father Bill Ballie and family members who served our country. This monument means a lot to the Baillie family and they would be proud to share it with others. The monument was constructed by MacEachern Masonry.
