Tax Sale 2026-01
Municipality of the County of Pictou
Notice is hereby given that the following described lands and premises, situated in the Municipality of the County of Pictou will be sold by Tender by the Treasurer of the Municipality of the County of Pictou unless such taxes, interests and expenses are paid in full by the date of the sale.
Sealed bids will be received by the Treasurer for the Municipality until April 10, 2026, at 4:00 pm. Bids shall be received by the Municipality by mail at PO Box 910 Pictou, Nova Scotia, B0K 1H0 or dropped off at the Municipal Office 46 Municipal Drive, Pictou, Nova Scotia in an envelope clearly marked MOPC Tax Sale Tender 2026-01.
The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all tenders or to accept any tender considered to be in its best interest. Bids will not be accepted in any other method including by facsimile or email.
Bidders must submit a separate bid form for each property they wish to bid on. Bidders shall use the bid submission form supplied by the municipality.
The Municipality may sell any property for an amount less than the taxes, interest and costs. If the Municipality is selling the property for less than the taxes, interest and costs, then the bid at a minimum must be equal to or greater than the minimum bid set by the Municipal Council. The successful bidder will have three (3) days after notification that their bid was successful to pay their bid price in full. If the payment is not received within three (3) days, the municipality will declare the bid unsuccessful and move to the next bidder.
The Municipality of the County of Pictou makes no representation or warranties to any purchase regarding the fitness; geophysical or environmental suitability of the land or premises offered for sale for any particular purpose nor if the current zoning is compatible for any particular use. Properties are being sold on an “as is” basis.
Although the Municipality has made all reasonable efforts to confirm ownership, it does not guarantee title or boundaries of the properties. Prospective bidders are responsible for conducting their own searches or other investigations.
