Abercrombie, N.S. - Information packages are going out in the mail Thursday to Abercrombie residents eligible to hookup to the Municipality of Pictou County’s new wastewater service.
The Municipality of Pictou County recently competed a $1.6 million project in Abercrombie that will allow 35 houses on Granton Abercrombie Road as well as those located on Ash Lane and South Hill Drive to connect to its new wastewater service.
The project was cost-shared through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund which saw the federal and provincial governments contribute 75 per cent of the costs and the Municipality of Pictou County cover 25 per cent.
Council awarded the contract for the work in October 2017 and it was completed in the fall of September 2018.
