Congratulations to MOPC employees (current and retired) who received the Queen's Jubilee Medal Monday.
Nova Scotia’s Platinum Jubilee Medal commemorates the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada, and it serves as a tribute to her life of service.
Her Majesty lifetime of service, she dedicated more than 70 remarkable years of continuous service to Canada, and countries throughout the Commonwealth. This extraordinary achievement made her our longest-reigning and longest-lived monarch in modern history. Prior to her death, at the beginning of the Platinum Jubilee Year, Her Late Majesty expressed a wish that Jubilee events be an occasion for enjoying a sense of togetherness and optimism about the future, which makes today the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of people who make our community better.
Warden Robert Parker, with the assistance of Deputy Warden Wayne Murray, (centre) awarded the medals to the following recipients, from the left: Kenda Grant, Cindy Fraser, Carolyn MacIntosh, Michael MacKenzie, Theresa Welsh, Karen Cornish and Brian Cullen.
Congratulations to everyone.
