The Municipality of Pictou County recently established an ad hoc Climate Change committee that addresses environmental concerns and look for solutions and improvements in the future. Recommendations from this committee go to council for debate and approval.
The committee is currently made up of non-elected members from the public and elected councillors. It typically meets monthly during the evening at the Municipality of Pictou County’s Council Chambers at 46 Municipal Drive, Pictou.
Considering that climate change will affect youth for years to come, members believe it is important to have their voice at the table. It is looking for accommodate three or four youth members, age 15 and up.
If you are interested in being part of this committee, please send a letter of interest to applications@munpict.ca.
