A major sidewalk project for the Municipality of Pictou County is near complete. Council awarded a tender to CF Construction this year to construct three sidewalks in rural Pictou County to ensure the safety of pedestrians in high traffic areas. One of the sidewalks is in Alma, near Northumberland Regional High School, and another is in Riverton, near the Riverview Home Corporation. A third section of sidewalk on MacGregor Avenue, across from the Pictou County Wellness Centre, is near complete. The total cost of the sidewalk project was $438,251.
