PICTOU, NS - The Municipality of Pictou County will be issuing tax bills this week, but the deadline for payment has been extended until July 22, 2020.
The Municipality understands people might have difficulty paying their bills right now because of the COVID-19 crisis so it extended the deadline until mid-July, but it wants to stress that if you can pay your taxes, please do so since it relies on tax dollars to provide services to residents.
Council is currently working on a program that may facilitate the payment of taxes for taxpayers who are finding it difficult to pay the 2020 taxes due to the Covid-19 situation. Details on the program will be released as soon as they become available.
The Municipality of Pictou County’s Administrative Building is currently closed to the public because of COVID-19, but payments can be accepted through online banking or a cheque in the mail to The Municipality of Pictou County, PO Box 910 Pictou, B0K 1H0. Cash is not accepted in the mail and credit cards are not taken for tax bill payments.
