Climate Change

Will storms like Fiona become more common? Where would people in Pictou County get food if Nova Scotia’s land connection to New Brunswick was damaged? What can be done to reduce coastal erosion in places like River John or prevent forest fires in communities like Sunny Brae?

These are topics the Municipality of Pictou County (MOPC) Council’s Climate Change Advisory Committee is thinking about. Members of the committee are currently developing a Municipal Climate Change Action Plan to help mitigate and adapt to the climate impacts in the County.
