Demolition of the former Linacy School started Friday (March 1).
Verhagen Demolition Ltd. was awarded the contract for the demolition of the building by the Municipality of Pictou County.
Verhagen Demolition had the lowest bid of $42,000 for the project. The Chignecto Central Regional Education Centre recently declared the former Linacy School as surplus property and it was turned back over the Municipality of Pictou County. The County made the decision to demolish the building and once this is complete, the land will be conveyed to the Linacy Fire Department. Video of the demolition can be viewed on our Facebook Page.
