PICTOU, NS – The Municipality of Pictou County has a new flag pole in front of its administration building.
The Municipality erected the second flag pole in late 2018 and it is now available to community groups under the guidelines of its new Event Flag Policy.
The policy establishes a fair and consistent response to groups and organizations requesting that their event flag be flown from a Municipality of Pictou County flag pole. The primary flag pole, which is higher than the secondary pole, will continue to only fly the Municipal, Provincial, Federal or First Nations flags.
The secondary pole can be used by community groups celebrating special events or awareness months. If more than one request comes in for flying an event flag at the same time, the requests will be processed as they are received. Flags will be flown in a manner consistent with flag etiquette of the Federal Department of Canadian Heritage. For more information on having an event flag flown at the Municipality’s administration building, call to.
