PICTOU, NS – The Municipality of Pictou County has adopted a new recreation plan.
County Councillors recently approved a recreation and active living strategy for rural residents that it hopes will allow people to be more active in their communities.
“This sets a pattern for recreation in the County for the next five years,” said Warden Robert Parker shortly after Council unanimously approved the strategy at its May meeting.
The recreation strategy was developed over six months and included community consultations, meetings with stakeholders as wells input for other recreation and volunteer groups.
“This strategy comes from a grassroots level. We listened to how people like to be active close to their homes and how we can improve that for them,” said Cindy Fraser, Municipality of Pictou County’s Recreation Coordinator.
The entire plan can be viewed at here.
