Several Payment Options Available for Tax Payments

It's that time of year again... MOPC property tax bills are in the mail.
Property taxes are a large source of revenue for municipalities which go toward services provided by the MOPC.
Property tax bills are mailed in April (due mid-June) and August (due in October). These tax bills are due June 15.
Water bills are invoiced quarterly in January, April, July and October. Please ensure you have supplied the Municipality of Pictou County with your correct mailing address, including your P.O Box # (if you have one) to deter delayed payments and notices.
There are several payment options available for paying your property taxes or water bills.
Payments via Online Banking:
You can pay your property tax or water bills online through your bank by following these instructions:
To begin, you must have a separate payee for each; taxes and water.
Property Taxes
Go to “Add Payee”
Search “Pictou”
Select “Pictou County Taxes”
Add all 8 digits of your Municipal Account number
Water Utility
Go to “Add Payee”
Search “Pictou”
Select “Pictou County Water”
Add all 8 digits of your Municipal Account number
Drop it in the mail:
You can pay your property tax bills by dropping a cheque into the mail. The address is: The Municipality of Pictou County

In person:
Visit our administration building Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to pay your bill in person. We also have a mail slot in our front door that envelopes can be dropped into for payment. If you are coming to our building, social distancing restrictions are in place and masks must be worn inside the building.
REMINDER: Landfill vouchers are available May 1st until Nov. 30. They are not available before this time. After May 1st, you can have your vouchers mailed to you by calling our finance department at 902-485-4311 or pick them up in person from our finance department.
