The MOPC's Climate Change Advisory Committee is partnering with Pictou County Forest School to plant 2500 white and red spruce trees on May 14 at 1 p.m. at 421 MacBain Road, Scotsburn.
Forest school students will help look after this section of forest for years to come. It will be measuring the amount of carbon that we are absorbing each year from these trees as part of its curriculum.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Thank you to our MOPC Public Works crew Troy Bonvie, left, and Andy MacDonald, right, for helping deliver the trees to the Pictou County Forest School today. Thanks to MOPC Warden Robert Parker and Climate Change Advisory Chair Peter Boyles for being on hand for the pick-up at the Department of Lands and Forestry in Coalburn.
