Emergency Shelter
Summer Street Industries has been set up as an overnight shelter for Pictou County residents still experiencing urgent issues as a result of Hurricane Fiona.
Residents with no power, no access to food or a water supply, and/or at risk in their home due to entrapment or other dangerous circumstances are the priority for this shelter.

Comfort Centres
The Town of New Glasgow’s Comfort Centre at Summer Street Industries (72 Park St, New Glasgow) will remain open for its residents operational from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Ward 1 Community Centre (487 Brother Street, New Glasgow) will open from 12pm to 4pm with the same purpose of charging devices and getting a hot beverage.

Westville Gymnasium comfort centre in partnership with the Salvation Army from 10 am to 3 pm... charging devices, wifi, coffee, tea, water, hot soup, family games and kid’s toys.

NSCC Pictou Campus will be open for charging of phones, use of laptops, etc. from 8am until 8 pm. Our cafeteria will be open, from 8am until 2 pm, on those days with a limited menu. All classes, and events are cancelled. Services will not be available.
