A New Year's Eve skate at the Hector Arena, hosted as a fundraiser by the Pictou Lobster Carnival, was a success, say volunteers.
About 250 people attended the skate and more showed up for the fireworks afterwards outside of the arena. The Municipality of Pictou County contributed funding to the event in addition to supporting both the Hector Arena and Pictou Lobster Carnival through grants during the year.
