The Municipality of Pictou County donated $500 to the Pictou County Christmas Fund this past Sunday during its six-hour telethon. Here, District 3 Coun. Darla MacKeil presents the cheque on behalf of the Municipality to fund volunteers. The Christmas Fund telethon, which is held at the deCoste Performing Arts Centre and includes an afternoon of local musical entertainment, raised $87,000 for Pictou County families in need during the holiday seasons. Disbursement dates for the fund are Dec. 12 and 13 at Summer Street Industries, New Glasgow from 1 to 4 p.m. and Dec. 13 from 130-4 p.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church Hall, Prince Street, Pictou.
