There was a festive atmosphere at the French River Presbyterian church on Dec. 1st as folks from many surrounding communities joined locals to welcome Warden Robert Parker and District 1 Councillor Don Butler to the area. Dubbed as the Warden’s Tea, the event afforded David Browning and his executive an opportunity to share their vision of how the church building could be converted into a community center to serve the needs of all residents.
Besides a craft sale, there was also an opportunity to purchase “new to you” items and to enjoy a delicious lunch. The event was a positive indication that there is support for a community center and a realization that such a building would greatly strengthen this and neighboring communities. Here, Jean Gates, treasurer of the group chats with Warden Robert Parker during the tea.
